Finn Transfer and Grunge Workshop
A beautifully layered, technique rich workshop suitable for all skill levels.
Finnabair is an extraordinary teacher, and her projects are always a joy to create — rich in texture, full of artistic freedom, and packed with techniques you’ll use again and again. Colours can be customised on the day so your finished piece truly reflects your own style.
This workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to build confidence with image transfers while exploring a wide range of mixed media techniques. Everything you learn can be easily adapted to journals, canvases, panels, and many other surfaces, making this class a valuable addition to your creative toolbox.
Working step by step, you’ll transfer images directly onto a wooden panel using Art Basics Soft Gel — one of Finn’s favourite and most versatile mediums. You’ll discover how to achieve beautiful, transferred effects while embracing the subtle textures, organic imperfections, and vintage charm that make each piece wonderfully unique.
From there, you’ll build your artwork layer by layer, arranging clusters of embellishments, found objects, and dimensional details to create depth and character.
Throughout the class, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to experiment with colour, stamping, splatters, drips, highlights, and expressive mixed media effects, giving your project its own artistic personality.

Class Duration: 3.5 hours to 4 hours.
